For the immediate family of Vicky & Frederik, we will gather at the Marriott for a Sunday brunch.
All are welcome to join for some amazing Texan-style BBQ and local craft beer. Come thirsty and hungry :)
Go to Værnedamsvej as a starting point. Called the “little Paris” of Copenhagen, it’s filled with boutiques and cafes condensed on a short street. Grab a coffee from Rist or Granola and walk down Frederiksberg Allé - a beautiful tree-lined boulevard.
Stop by Frederiksberg Chokolade for chocolates or an ice cream, then continue to Frederiksberg Have. It’s a pretty big park (including our wedding venue), and has a playground, lakes and a zoo (great for kiddies!).
For cocktails, go to Lidkoeb, Duck and Cover, or Salon 39.
Strøget and Købmagergade are the main shopping streets, but find unique boutiques on and around Pilestræde and Krystalgade.
Make sure to stop by Torvehallerne, just near Nørreport metro station. It's two glass buildings filled with different food stalls, and has something for everybody.
Nyhavn, the historic harbor area, is also close by. Grab an ice cream from Vaffelbageren and cross the bridge over to Copenhagen Street Food on Papirøen for more delicious eats and Copenhagen Contemporary museum.
For cocktails, go to d'Angleterre hotel bar for a classy atmosphere.
This is a charming, ethnically diverse neighborhood. Take a walk through Assistens Kirkegård, a beautiful cemetary/park that houses the graves of the great Danes (H.C. Andersen, Søren Kierkegård, etc).
Then head to Jægersborggade. Grab a coffee at Coffee Collective (the hipster coffee temple of CPH), and stroll around the many art galleries and local boutiques.
For drinks, go to Mikkeller & Friends for a crazy good selection of craft beer or hit up the bars/cafes on Ravnsborggade.
The best way to get around this city is by bike, and you'll be able to see a lot more of the city on wheels :) Copenhagen is not a terribly large city either, so most places can be reached in about a 10-20 minutes' ride. Just remember to stay to the right if you ride slow, and let other cyclists pass from the left!
Taxa is the most popular taxi service here. Hail a cab directly on the street, or give them a call at +45 3535 3535.
The Copenhagen Metro is brand new and shiny and you should definitely try it out, if only for the futuristic glass, concrete stations and driverless trains. They go every couple of minutes and can take you from the Airport to City Center in 15 minutes.
Copenhagen is famous for its "New Nordic" food trend, spear-headed by the now closed NOMA. Go to Radio or Amass instead, but make sure to make reservations ahead of time. Some other great places to eat:
